SLAB FIREPLACE

Over the last couple of months, when Fall was coming to a close and Winter was just around the corner, we turned our attention (and fired up our imagination) to something which could be a revolutionary design product with a very simple need, and function: to warm you up.

Our Fireplace, inspired by the stone pieces which our grandmothers had at home (and which we saw and ran around as unruly kids growing up), is not running on wooden logs anymore but on a clever electrical socket. Almost like a gathering around sculpture (or firepit) made for lazy late evening reunions and dinners (and the odd marshmallow roast), we designed it to be something useful and also movable (you can wheel it around the place).

By cutting the 3cm stone slabs in organic shapes which immediately remind you of dancing flames, this piece looks somehow almost light enough to float, bringing to memory those sleepy moments where everyone feels warm enough to snuggle and hug.

The key to singular design is that form follows function without ever forgetting that our memories matter (and shape our process). So the new Studio Gameiro piece, available to order in 66cm (60cm interior fireplace), 96cm, 126cm and 156cm versions, is a living sculptural object with a story to tell.

Just tell that to the roasting marshmallow.
